The consultation will request the Venezuelan people to approve and authorize the implementation of all national and international pressure mechanisms necessary to put and end to the usurper regime, to achieve free presidential and parliamentary elections, to safeguard the people from the humanitarian crisis, forced migration and the crimes against humanity commited by Maduro’s dictatorship.

Conveners of the consultation

38 democratic political organizations, together with Interim President Juan Guaidó and the National Assembly, signed a UNITY pact to free Venezuela.

In this pact they have proposed to the country that the solution to the crisis and suffering of Venezuela is through the holding of free presidential and parliamentary elections.

To this end, they have called for an agenda of struggle based on Unity and the mobilization of the people together with the democratic forces.

This agenda of struggle is based on the need to count on all the external and internal pressure necessary to make way for the solution so longed for by the people of Venezuela.

In the internal sphere of struggle, the agenda proposes the formation of commandoes for popular organization, protests and mobilizations in the streets, and the convocation of the Popular Consultation.

¿What is the popular consultation?

It is a constitutional mechanism of popular participation that allows the people of Venezuela to express themselves in a legitimate manner, without depending on the institutions usurped by the dictatorship. This mechanism was called after being approved by the National Assembly by invoking Article 70 of the National Constitution.

¿What is the purpose of the consultation?

The objectives of the consultation are, in the first place, to formally reject the fraud called for by the dictatorship for December 6th and at the same time to ask for the rejection by the international community.

Secondly, it seeks to authorize all measures of national and international pressure necessary to get rid of the dictatorship, protect the people from crimes against humanity, the humanitarian crisis, and forced migration.

Finally, to reiterate free presidential and parliamentary elections as the mechanism for the definitive solution to the crisis and suffering of the Venezuelan people.

¿What wil the consultation allow?

With the Popular Consultation it will be possible to achieve the organization and mobilization of the people and thus demonstrate the overwhelming majority of a country that rejects and confronts the dictatorship in spite of the intention of the latter to hide this mayority.
